Artists Statement by Anemone Delvoie -

My first inspiration is my everyday life with my daughters, I am also inspired by different art and political movements of the twentieth century like the Back to the Land movement, the Art Brut movement or just Provencal pottery style. My childhood spent between European cities and Mediterranean landscapes is always reappearing in my work. I embrace defaults and mistakes in my pieces and believe that utilitarian object’s beauty is important to any man's well being and happiness. My novice approach to pottery is an excuse for my childish experiment with clay, glazes and decorations that I wish to cultivate. I wish to stay away any kind of apprenticeship and keep learning my way.
