Smoke — Meditative — Bright

As with all translation there is no perfect equivalent. The Japanese concept of “mono no aware” evokes not only notions of ephemerality and transience, but of the beauty and pathos we are able to glimpse in the fleeting nature of things.

Asymptotic turns of smoke. A melancholy for the indentations of the pit on the peach. The feeling of walking out on the street in front of a theater — still — you carry the images.

Coconut wax blend with a 100% cotton wick

8oz pour | 10oz vessel

Before burning, trim wick to 1/4". This will avoid soot. Burn for 2-4 hours every time, allowing the wax to liquify from edge to edge. Never leave a burning candle unattended and never try to move a candle while burning.
About Mar Mar Los Angeles

Each fragrance composition is created to serve as an open prompt, meant to provoke associative leaps and interpretation.

Mar Mar Los Angeles has refined their identity without relying on logos; designing with restraint. An earthy wax, a pop of color. Labels that disappear into the background — subtle and intentional. Their packaging is 100% recyclable, a small reflection of our desire to leave as little behind.

MAR MAR Los Angeles is partnered with Collective Altadena to raise funds in support of those impacted by the Los Angeles wildfires of January 2025. Beyond immediate relief, they hope this effort contributes to education and long-term infrastructure that can help prevent future devastation.
