Made in France
The history of the Labourer began in the 1950s. Primo Zélanti, a young Italian emigrant, travels the markets of southern Burgundy to sell clothes for agricultural workers, many of them at the end of the Second World War. A skilful salesman, and enterprising man, Primo created his own clothing brand in 1956. Anxious to bring his users solid and elegant clothing, he attaches strong values to it and sets up his workshop in Digoin, an important village in the west of the Saône et Loire. Today, Le Labourer are proud to be one of the companies that still manufactures clothing in France at affordable prices for their consumers. Their team of about thirty seamstresses manufactures several tens of thousands of pieces per year in Digoin, in the heart of Burgundy. Their fabrics, often unique, come mainly from France, Belgium, and Germany.
