The Barrier Balm is a nutrient-dense concentrate - a little goes a long way. Apply to damp or dry skin, morning or night. Use over the entire face or target areas that need extra support. The balm works beautifully as your only moisturizer—or can be layered with your favorite serums, creams, or oils. To apply, warm a pea-sized amount between fingertips, then gently press onto clean skin across the face, neck, and décolleté.
Barrier Balm can also be applied to dry, delicate areas such as the under eyes, cuticles, and lips for nourishing hydration.
~ 75 - 100 applications per jar or 3-5 months depending on usage.

Apply a smaller amount if using with SPF, as occlusives can interfere with how sunscreens spread evenly to form a consistent protective layer.

What makes this special?
The skin barrier, or stratum corneum, is the outermost layer of the skin and plays a critical role in your overall skin health. It helps regulate moisture by preventing trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), protects against environmental stressors (such as pollution, sun, bacteria, viruses), and supports a balanced, calm complexion. When the barrier is compromised-through weather exposure, over-cleansing, exfoliation, or insufficient lipid replenishment-skin can become dry, sensitive, or inflamed, and conditions such as dermatitis and rosacea may be more likely to flare.
True barrier repair focuses on replenishing the components that naturally exist in the stratum corneum-namely lipids (fatty acids, ceramides, and cholesterol) along with natural moisturizing factors (such as amino acids and minerals). When these elements are depleted, the barrier weakens and skin becomes more vulnerable. Restoring them helps improve moisture retention, reduce reactivity, and support a healthier, more resilient barrier over time.
Why no wax?
Barrier Balm is an intentionally waxless facial balm that's lighter, more breathable, and melts beautifully into your skin. Many balms rely on wax to hold their shape, but this can create a heavier, pore-clogging finish. This waxless formula stays supple, absorbing easily while delivering concentrated barrier lipids and nourishing oils—a perfect balance of protection and breathability.
